Miyagi Prefecture has Matsushima, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, and there is also the Rikuchu Kaigan National Park. Ishinomaki City is the birthplace of Shotaro Ishinomori, a manga artist, and has an Ishinomaki Manga Museum.
